Frank Macpherson, an American, got the chance to go to the land of his ancestors and in the company of his friend, Malcolm Macallan, a Highlander born and bred, he made the most of his stay. Everything was new to him—and "everything" included salmon, eagles, camping on the hill, the dangers of a Highland storm that put the rivers in spate, and enough adventure for the hardiest spirit.
