Glasgow at a Glance

Foreword from the Lord Provost

It is with great pleasure that I commend this handbook on our City.

Glasgow's architecture, in particular the nineteenth century phase, has in recent years been increasingly recognised as outstanding throughout the World.

All of us in Glasgow are very conscious of our inheritance and in the seventies we are determined to hold fast to what is best; to clean up our streets and buildings and to add to its proud appearance, both in architecture and environment.
